Chimpanzee Sanctuary & Wildlife Conservation Trust

We support Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary & Wildlife Conservation Trust (CSWCT)

CSWCT is a Non-Governmental Organization whose operations depend on donations from well-wishers and fees paid by visitors to Ngamba Island. Supporters are from different walks of life and parts of the world. Join the existing supporters and contribute to the welfare of the orphaned rescued chimpanzees at Ngamba Island and other programmes of CSWCT

Chimpanzee Trust Uganda was established as a combined national and international initiative and a globally recognized collaborative conservation effort, geared towards developing and implementing a long-term strategy for conservation of chimpanzees and their habitat, with the immediate purpose of establishing a chimpanzee sanctuary on Ngamba Island in Lake Victoria, and such other places in Uganda as the trustees may acquire.

Chimpanzee Trust Uganda established Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary in 1998 for the care and welfare of entrusted animals while conserving as far as possible the ecosystem of the island.

In 2007, Chimpanzee Trust Uganda expanded its work to help communities living alongside wild chimpanzees as neighbours to benefit from their proximity and value their existence. We now have field projects in Hoima, Masindi and Buliisa districts in Western Uganda.
